Q: What are Ripstix?A: What would a drumming workout be without drumsticks? We’ve invented unique, lightly weighted exercise drumsticks that have been specially designed to get you ripped — hence the name: Ripstix®!
Twice the weight of a standard drumstick (¼ lb each) and slightly shorter in length, Ripstix® are designed to maximize your workout by alter the physics of your arm movement to burn more calories. |
Q: What should I bring to class?A: Water is a MUST. Bring a yoga mat (if you have one) If you don't have a yoga mat, we have extra's with us the you can use. Some people wear weight lifting gloves to avoid blisters. We recommend not wearing jewelry.
You DO NOT need to bring your own set of Ripstix. We supply them for everyone to use during class. |
Q: Are there any people who cannot attend classes?
A: Participants with heart problems, or injuries should not participate. If you are less than 6 weeks postpartum then you cannot attend. We also strongly suggest check with your doctor to get the ok after the 6 weeks postpartum. All student will be asked to complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q), if there are found to be any contraindications, you may be asked to provide a doctor's note to clear you for exercise. If there is anything that you think may affect your ability to take part in a physical exercise class, please get in touch - it's best that your instructor knows about any medical conditions, so they can help you if you fall ill during a class.

Q: Can Men Attend Class?
A: YES! Pound is for men & women of all shapes & sizes. Majority of the classes are women, but we have dudes come rock out with us from time to time! We don't just use hit list/pop tracks. We use tons of classic rock & awesome hard & heavy hits from artist like Linkin Park, Rage Against Machine, Nirvana & many, many more!

Q: What age is Pound for?A: Pound is for any age, any stage!
UNDER 19 YRS - If you are under 19, you must get your parent/guardian to contact us to sign a waiver and PAR-Q form on your behalf. 19 YRS & OVER - You are never too old for Pound! If you have mobility issues there is always modifications we can show you how to safely rockout with us. Heck! You can always do the workout rocking out in a chair! |
Q: What do I wear & do we wear shoes?A: Wear whatever you feel comfortable to move around & exercise in. Something that makes you feel like a ROCKSTAR!! As for shoes, it's up to you! Some people just do class barefoot, others running shoes or even sticky yoga socks. Its whatever your comfortable in. We would not recommend regular socks because they are slippery.
